CoRight is a platform offered to amateur sci-fi and fantasy writers for finding compatible writing partners based on user portfolios and forum interactions. It is the solution to many of the pains and issues of finding collaboration online.

FAQs

Although the final version of our website is still under development, interested writers can try out a free concept model of the website built upon existing online tools. By completing the super short sign-up form that you can access by clicking the blue button at the top of this webpage's home page, you will become one of our first testers/users!

You would really, really be helping us a lot just by using CoRight and providing us with some feedback. We are not ashamed to admit that CoRight does not really have users yet and is still unpolished, since this is a first trial in the truest sense. However, since it’s free, you don’t lose anything by trying this platform out. More likely, you’ll obtain some unexpected benefit, despite the crudeness of CoRight.

Is this the final version?

After you submit the form, you will see a confirmation message that contains an invite to our Discord server.

In our Discord server, we have created different channels for different topics. Here, you will be able to chat about your daily life, post writer memes, recommend books, discuss your current writing project, or do the writing activities that we will sometimes post. Before you do all that, however, you need to create your user profile. The information that will appear on your profile will be collected through two forms. Although only the first form—which asks for some basic information about you—is mandatory to answer, we recommend you to complete the second form as well. The second form asks questions regarding your availability & commitment to a collaboration, your
preferred collaboration dynamic, your worries & intolerances, your writing style & philosophy, your hopes for a collaboration, etc. Answering these questions could help you find a more compatible partner who shares or accepts your views.

Your response to the form(s) will be transferred to a Google Doc, which in turn will be kept in CoRight's communal user profile folder. There, you will be able to see the profiles of other users, and the reverse also holds true. This way, you will know the answers of other users to some hard questions without needing to ask them yourself!
You will also be better equipped to make an informed decision about finding a writing partner, now that you know about other users' perspectives on collaboration.

What happens after I submit the sign-up form?

What if I still have concerns?

Just as a reminder, don't hesitate to reach out to writers you find interesting by direct messaging them! Also feel free to team up with people you are interested in to do the aforementioned Discord writing activities, in order to get a taste of what it would be like to work with them. Lastly, if you do find partner(s) you want to write with, tell us, and we will be happy to create a private channel for you guys to chat on!

Through portfolios, Discord conversations, and writing activities, you may just find a compatible writing partner that you feel confident in undertaking a story with!

We understand that finding writing partners, especially online, may seem iffy for some people. We are eager to attempt to alleviate your concerns or fears.

We encourage you to still do the survey and join our Discord server. In the server, there's a section devoted to voicing concerns. If you post your concerns there, we will find a way to improve CoRight so that make the experience may be more enjoyable for you. Another option is to directly email us at coright.4u@gmail.com.

Where do I submit feedback and questions?

As we are still in the testing phase, any feedback is greatly appreciated. The good thing about being our product’s first users is that your insights, wishes, and questions will be valued greatly!

You can send us you thoughts on our feedback channel on Discord or fill in our feedback form
 here.
